Special Event: Your Legacy Tours Black History Tour @ Travellers Rest House Museum

What we'll do

The Nashville Black Wellness Collective believes in the transformative power of connecting health and heritage to help us achieve our highest potential. Our mission includes linking our community to our culture, ancestors, traditions, and stories of resilience and excellence, enabling us to benefit from understanding our cultural legacy. Inspired by our recent trip to Ghana, we felt compelled to return home and share a different narrative. That's where Your Legacy Tours comes in. They specialize in creating unique, customized experiences for Black visitors at historical sites, highlighting Black stories, cultural practices, community, ancestral connections, and artifacts.

We will participate in a private, intimate tour of Travellers Rest Historic House Museum curated to reconnect us with the stories of our ancestors in a safe environment that honors joy, remembrance, love, and connection.  Your Legacy Tours is a curated experience centering the Black visitor and our unique needs of being in a space with history tied to enslavement. It’s simply a tour designed like the family gatherings we’re used to. There will be music, libations, laughter, tears, learning and unlearning. It will be a space of togetherness, reflection and fellowship.

About the Site

Travellers Rest Historic House Museum is a former plantation that enslaved over 50 of our ancestors. It is a site that honors our history and wants to share it. They have opened their doors and space for just us.
