About the event

What we'll do:

We're combining fitness, culture, outdoor activities with inspiration and community. It's a mindful field day dedicated to promoting Black joy and wellness this Global Wellness Day. This experience will leave you feeling inspired, empowered, and energized.

The Line Up

Collective African Dance:

Our African ancestors used dance as a form of self care and healing. Sankofa African Drum and Dance Company will lead us through a powerful and fun session that combines traditional West African movements with the powerful beat and rhythm of drums.

AfroBeat Yoga

Dr. Letimicia of Nkyinkyim Yoga is back for soul salutations backed to an Afro Beat. This mind-strengthening yoga session will incorporate breathing exercises, beginner-friendly yoga sequences, and intentionally paced movements to enhance your alignment, strength, and balance.

One mile You Way:

We'll hit the trail for a 1 mile nature walk or run. Take it easy or go hard. not. Run or walk. How you do it is not important, the goal is to get to the finish line.

Kayaking:

Experience the calming benefits of being on water. You can choose to take an easy float or get in a great upper body workout with a power paddle against the water’s resistance.

And at any point, you can honor you need to rest and just chill with the lake views.
